What started as a favor might be my forever.

I’ve built my life around control—my reputation, my career, my heart. But when a scandal threatens Saola Technology, the company my brothers and I built from the ground up, I need a clean slate to keep the vultures at bay.

Enter Jasmine Ross, the little sister of my two best friends and the last person I ever expected to marry. She’s everything I’m not—wild, untamed, impossible to pin down. She’s spent her life running from attachments, but now, she needs me just as much as I need her.

A fake marriage solves both our problems: I get my redemption story, and she gets to stay in London to be the guardian of a teenager who’s captured her fierce, wandering heart. It’s perfect on paper.

But from the moment Jasmine walks into that London café, all fiery eyes and restless energy, I know I’m in trouble. Because this isn’t just about saving face anymore—it’s about her.

The more time we spend under the same roof, the harder it is to remind myself that this is pretend. And when the lines between what’s real and what isn’t blur, I start to wonder: will we survive the fallout if this all comes crashing down?

Because Jasmine isn’t just my fake wife. She’s the one thing I never saw coming. And now, I don’t know if I can let her go.

Five-Star Reviews

  • There was growth, love, joy, and anxiety. The way she explained Jasmine's need to run away and all the ways she deals with her grief and trauma from the loss of her mom had me in tears multiple times. And the way Aaron held her through everything and was her safe place? SOBBING.

  • This was too good!!! Entirely too good. I ate the up, couldn’t put it down and I’m desperate for the next part.

  • I loved this story; as Kennedy so eloquently put it “Troy is everything”, his backstory explaining why he does what his does was incredibly moving. So far, Kennedy has been my favorite MFC; while being beautiful and incredibly smart, she also had common-sense and did not make Troy’s already difficult job harder.

  • What drew me initially to this book was how beautifully it was written. The poetic descriptions and intriguing quotes caught my attention. But it was Rose that kept my attention. I loved what she represented. She was a feminine, wealthy, black woman living her best life.

  • Beautiful. Masterpiece. And I adored Amara and her relationships with both Jasmine and Aaron. You definitely need to read this!

  • I fell head over heels for this book and these characters!!!

  • Rain and Nik were absolutely perfect to me and I spent the whole book yelling at them, wanting them to choose each other.

  • If you’re looking for a story that rushes into passion, this one takes a different—and deeply rewarding—route. London Calling unfolds with a deliciously slow burn between Jasmine and Aaron, rich with innuendo and emotional tension. Their chemistry simmers beneath the surface, shaped by years of shared history and the delicate boundaries of family ties.

  • Really enjoyed this 'steamy' and interesting novel by Rita Gordon. You may need a fan a few times to cool you down, but the book is well written and interesting for sure. The main character Rose has a few decisions to make re: men in her life and the ending is surprising for sure. A good read.
